Seeking an oasis

Today was a short one, we woke at 4.49am to a 4.5 magnitude earth quake, with an epicenter very close to where we made camp last night, fun times, we heard the rumble before we got rocked in the tent, no harm done and it was definitely a unique experience for us, tent quakes..

Otherwise it was a fairly restful night once we started to rehydrate from the prior days exertion, we got up at the usual time pretty much and packed up under the blazing sunlight, it had already begun to scorch by 6:45am, as we had signal we read that there is a heatwave in the area until Friday, as if it isn't not enough, well played desert

We decided that we'd seek shelter out of the desert flats and let this heat pass while we recovered from yesterday, we are getting more in shape but the toll from yesterday was high on our bodies so it felt like the smarter choice, on the plus side im down 23lbs from my starting weight, with whatever muscle composition changes had happened, so that's basically a free backpack.. Always a good thing, it is also about a pound a day, and I have 2000 calorie diet for the most part if its any indication of the workload we are under

We got a ride to Banning, where we secured accommodation, and ate, and flopped in the hot tub and pool, which for the record must be the only pool in America that is fed through a refrigeration unit, the water was nearly unbearably cold, nearly.. we soaked in the hot tub twice today, our stiff muscles thanked us, was nice to fully submerge and we'll definitely soak our bones again before we head back into the woods, or desert, in this case

We will zero here tomorrow, rest up, do chores, watch the weather, and head back out when it suits us

I'm also able to add photos to the blog entries missing them, I hope you enjoy
