Today we left lake morena and it's chicken tender basket goodness for fresh lands.. About 13 miles away
Our first six miles was pretty uneventful, not too many ups and downs, and before long we arrived at our mid point, boulder Oaks campground, for water, food eating, and foot resting.. And all those things we did, we drank about two liters of water, ate and got off our feet for longer than we should have, but it was a nice spot, we left here at 1:30pm
The campground seems primarily equine in focus with each site having a horse pen attached, the first of its kind that we've seen so far, the pct is accessible to horse riders as well as hikers, needless to say we've seen plenty of "road apples".. And later on also a pile of not buried human poop, way to go you damn savages.. You had one job..leave no trace..
So after we left boulder oaks, we had 7ish miles to go, and they were a hot and dusty set of miles to be sure, very exposed and very little shade, and again the Sun umbrellas win gear MVP two days running
While on this hot section we came across a small death noodle with maybe 5 rattles, not indicative of his age exactly but how many times he's shed his skin, he didn't rattle at us, and slowly departed the trail, not before I got a photo though, so I suspect he was cold and hadn't spent enough time sunning himself
Not long after that we also saw our first trail magic, someone left a gallon of water with a note on it at a road crossing, was a hot n dusty section and while we had enough water it was warming to see the general well wishes we see towards the hikers out here
So this wraps up day three, was hot, challenging, mostly up hill, but we remain in good spirits and look forward to tomorrow's adventure.. Which is speculated to entail two nights in a cabin, with running water no less

Sorry to hear you have gained some blisters but guess one can't expect to walk 2650 miles without something to show for it. Running water sounds like luxury, have fun happy hikers. Sending love and hugs.
